Week 23 Commentary

Jeff Gordon and his #24 Kraft Food For Hunger Chevy SS team is on a torrid pace of late, and after sitting on the pole, passed lap leader Joey Logano with 15 laps to go to take the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.  Kyle Bucsh had his third consecutive poor finish after a pair of second place finishes.

An uncommon pair shared the winners circle for the Conway NASCAR League as Fitz Racing and Burke got the top score. Slim Shady Racing, Team Wolf and Pup N Suds (love that name) rounded out the top five.

Very few movers upward of note this week, but Burke shot up the leaderboard.  In the garage were Luckydog, picking on road tending to some personal business, Boris Head Racing OShea Racing and Chief Racing, who has turned to operation on four cylinders.

Team Taser had a long pit spot this week but maintained the lead.  Glynn has got the pedal mashed, followed by Smoke' Fury, KDog Racing and No Ones Beatch.  There are several drivers who are attempting without success to crash the top five.

It is Saturday Night short track racing this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway for the running of the  IRWIN Tools Night Race.  Bumpin and bangin at it's finest, but stay in the car when the tempers flare due to the new rule imposed in the aftermath of the death of sprint car racer Kevin Ward, who was hit by the car driven by Tony Stewart.  It is expected Stewart will sit out again this weekend as he continues the grieving process, for which we wish him well.

In other news, Carl Edwards announced he will, as expected, join Joe Gibbs Racing in 2015

This is the last race of this box set, so let it rip.  The field will be placed under green at approximately 7:43PM.
