Week 31 Commentary

The races are dwindling down on the 2009 Conway NASCAR League and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. In the standings, there were some serious shakeups back in the pack as teams mash the floorboard to try to get into the top ten. At Lowes Motor Speedway, in a rather shocking development, it was once again the Jimmie Johnson show. Ricky Racer was less than thrilled:

For the week, Boy Racing Inc. had the field covered. Lil Boy^^ and Big Boy^ tied for the win, followed by Tippy Twister, Smokes Fury, Two or Five Racing, WTC Racing and Mama's Boy rounded out the top five. There were several race teams who had poor scores, many of whom may have been going for broke here with so few weeks left.

Team Taser continues to show the way in the overall standings, and he has a nice sized lead. WTF Racing, Ricky Racer, The Gas Man and James Hall Racing round out the top five. Those gaining spots were Boy Racing, Inc., Smokes Fury, Team Cuda, Motorcare Racing, WTC and Blood or Tears, who gained a league leading 11 spots.
Losing grip up in the banking were Diamond Dave, The Lug Nuts, NJ Motorsports, Punch, Crank McTanken and Burke.

This week it is short track racing at Martinsville, which should be a fender banging affair. Don't bother waking up Ricky Racer, Jimmie Johnson is good here also. The Tums Fast Relief 500 drops the green flag at 1:43PM EST.

Keep the fenders clean!
