Week 25 Commentary

Atlanta Motor Speedway is a very fast track, but the racing there is not as good as it used to be.  In addition, Jeff Gordon says he has gone soft.

Gordon did not punt Denny Hamlin, and Hamlin went on to win the AdvoCare 500 at AMS, with Gordon in second.  Many leaders crashed out, including Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman while Carl Edwards blew up.

Blue 7 Racing won the week, followed closely by Burke.  Maybe these guys found some notes from a Hooters 500 in the old days.  O Racing finished third, followed by Lucky Penny and Team Taser.

Team Taser shot up the leader board 11 spots, and leads a drafting freight train of racers, including Big Boy, Lil Boy, Lisa Las Vegas, Burke and Lucky Penny, who are all within 96 points of The Big Lebowski, who continues on point.  The time to go is now, and I should remember to alert myself to this point, at some point.

Team Taser, Burke and Blue 7 gained major ground, while Chief, Cane Racing and CosmoD each fell back with blown engines.

The Democrats are meeting in Charlotte this weekend, and although most if not all of the drivers favor the Republicans, the NASCAR Hall of Fame has been host to many television networks, special events and interviews, gaining quite a bit of great publicity for the sport.

After Matt Kenseth announced he will be in the #20 Gibbs Racing Chevrolet, Joey Logano immediately announced he will be in the #22 Penske Ford next season. Silly Season is in full swing.

We race on Saturday night again this week, not good for college football fans, but ideal for the opening Sunday of NFL football.  Richmond International Raceway is where we will be, which is good for Smoke, as this is his favorite track and he has been slumping some kind of bad awful.

The rag will drop at Richmond for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at 7:43 PM, at which time they will turn em loose.
