Week 2 Commentary

For the first time in 12 years, a Daytona 500 winner has won the following week as Matt Kenseth held off Jeff Gordon to capture the AutoClub 500 at AutoClub Speedway in Fontana, CA. Gordon was the last driver to do it, following up Daytona by winning at Rockingham in 1997.

The Conway Racers had another interesting week as GIRLS Racing*, a newly formed team, won week 2. Following GIRLS racing in the top 5 were Lisa Las Vegas, S&T Racing, Fitz Racing*, Team ISH* and BMF Lugnuts*.

Among the big movers toward the front this week were GIRLS Racing*, Team Leboski, BMF Lugnuts*, Lisa Las Vegas, Blue 7 Racing^, Team ISH*, Brady Bunch* and the Gas Man. Even Team SIMBO had a good run.

Pushing too many RPM'S on the engine this week were Club BDawg*, WTC Racing, JD Racing*, Team Annihilation*, Budah and Motorcare Racing.

I held on to the top spot (first time ever leading two weeks in a row) and O Racing stayed in second. Rounding out the top five are Brian Racing*, Snookbabe and Fitz Racing*.

This week we stay out west and run the Shelby 427 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of three tracks Tony Stewart remains winless on and Jimmie Johnson has owned of late.

Las Vegas is great fun for the drivers and fans, and a hauler parade is scheduled for Friday Night.
