After the conclusion of the Scotts Turfbuilder 300 Nationwide race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, some nightime fun will commence as a mix of celebrities and former Bristol stars will compete in a 50 lap late model rubbin is racin charity event.
Ray Evernham is one of the scheduled drivers, but so are college football legends Frank Beamer of Virginia Tech, who will serve as Grand Marshall on Sunday, and former Auburn head coach and Yahoo Sports columnist Terry Bowden. Andy Petree, Brad Daugherty, Philadelphia Eagle placekicker David Akers and MTV's Riki Rachtman are among others particpating.
ESPN2 will have live coverage of this crashfest. I am pulling for Team Bowden, of course.
There is also a Legends Race, which will have the participation of Harry Gant, David Pearson, Junior Johnson, Cale Yarborough and Rusty Wallace will be running.
Visit Bristol Motor Speedway for more details.
