Thursday evening, after Sprint Cup Happy Hour practice, AJ Allmendinger was the guest on Speed TV's Trackside. Along with Rutledge Wood and Kyle Petty; Dinger was tossing birthday cakes and old televisions of the top of Winston Tower in a made for TV clowning around skit.No clowning, or kidding, around hours before the Coke Zero 400 as Allmendinger was temporarily suspended for failing a drug test. The particulars have not been released.
Sam Hornish, Jr filled in for Penske Racing in the 22 Dodge. Penske found the situation "disappointing".
No doubt, this is a tough blow for AJ. Sometimes, a man is made when he must face adversity and chooses to do so with integrity.
Many of us are big fans of Dinger and are hoping this is not what it appears to be. Lets hope for the best and we will be pulling for AJ to get it together and take advantage of what life has to offer him.
