Another bunch of cars got crumpled up at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend as Brad Keselowski won the Aarons 499. Although we had a very serious crash with Eric McClure in the Nationwide Series, nothing serious happened for the cup drivers.
Little Circle Burner had another blistering week, torching the field by 15 points and scoring the second win of the season. Big Boy, Lil Boy and The Gas Man tied for second with Pamela's Pistons finishing fifth.
Tony Stewart was not pleased about the goings on at Talladega. Although I can appreciate his position, if these drivers think us fans enjoy them running without coming within feet of one another at the likes of Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway and the oh so boring California Speedway, they are missing all the empty seats in the stands. Without question, our pitiful economy is a major factor, but even Bristol has lost its appeal because no longer is rubbin racing.
This week, we head out to the oldest Superspeedway on the circuit as we roll into Darlington to tackle the Lady in Black on Saturday evening. Thankfully, this is still a good race, and the Darlington stripe will still reach out and grab the best of the best.
The Bojangles' Southern 500 is schedule to be put under green at 7:15PM. Greg Biffle is on the pole and yes, Danika Patrick made the race and will start 38th.
Happy Mothers Day to all, and good luck!
